Friend Date and a Field Trip

We love our new neighborhood.

Our backyard is the perfect size to play in!

There's just one thing missing... LAIKEN!

Laiken came over one Sunday to play! We miss being able to play with her whenever we want!

Best buds!

While she was here, we ordered pizza and celebrated Wilson's birthday! He had some puppy ice cream! We had human ice cream!

The next three pictures is what it looks like when Adley bolts to the swingset instead of the car in the morning! Ha!

Kendall just laughs!

Sweet girls buckled in!

Kendall had a field trip to one of those jumpy house places and my mom accompanied her.

I vividly remember having a breakdown at work on this day. I had a kid go crazy during a fire drill and other problems in class that day. I cried in my coworker's room during my planning. I hate missing these moments in my childrens' lives, but I'm glad I have a village happily willing to spend time with my sweet girls when I have to work!

Playdates and Shopping

The Montgomery’s came over this past Wednesday night! We hadn’t seen them in a while and we had so much fun catching up. Hallie is almost 1 and Adley was beside herself playing with a friend her size! She is going to love “school” in the fall!

Playing in big sister’s (Ka-ka) room!

And Kendall and Caleb hit it off like they always do!

My friend Molly came over the next day and brought baby Adelaide! I hadn’t seen her since she was a few weeks old. She was so mobile and happy!

It is so fun raising babies with friends!!!

Later on I had the bright idea to take the girls to Kohls and the grocery. Kendall fell asleep on the way there.

So I thought I would just keep the dvd players on for Adley and play on my phone while Kendall napped. Nope. Adley had a blow out. After I changed her awkwardly in the front seat, I just let her play there.

Thanks to my friend Erin for the idea, we made a paper chain a few days into Chris’s trip and it has been part of our morning routine. It has really helped Kendall through this ordeal! Ha!

Tomorrow we will have 1 left!

Valentine’s Day 2015

Valentine’s Day is my second favorite holiday. I just love it! It’s not even about the romance part. Because I am a firm believer you should do that all year. It’s the hearts and fun and the sweetness of celebrating it with littles.

Kendall’s class had to decorate Valentine’s boxes for her school party. I can remember doing this as a kid and it’s even more fun watching your kids relive things you did.

I bought some sparkly stickers and wrapped a shoe box in tissue paper for her. Then she had full creative reign. I thought it turned out awesome!

My mom took this picture at her house when I was dropping Adley off on Feb 13. I love it! Only missing Chris!

Let me tell you, school parties are the worst as a teacher. So much candy. Kids are bouncing off the walls. Yikes!

Later than evening, I went with Tara and Rebecca to see Christian Grey. xoxo It was so nice having a girls night. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory before the movie and it was so nice just being Shelli for a few hours.

And Chris took our little beauties out for Orange Leaf.

Speaking of romance… I shared an article on fb and tagged Chris’s name in it about what girls really want for Valentine’s day. And he remembered!

My honey brought me home flowers and a box of goodness!

No jewelry needed. I can just picture him assembling this in his car before he came in the house. I love this man!

We got some sweet gifts for the girls. We got them both a little teddy bear, balloon, and spring outfits. I got Adley some headbands. Kendall got some headbands, nail polish, and Frozen chocolates. They were both tickled.

Kendall kept saying, “Oh goodness! Thank you!”

And this one is a pro at opening gift now. She should be well prepared for her birthday.

This one is too busy to smile for the camera!

We celebrated by going to Fazoli’s for dinner as a family. Another holiday in the books for our family of 4!

Kendall’s 4th Birthday

We had the bright idea to have Chris and Kendall birthday parties on the same weekend. Chris turned 30 on the 14th so we celebrated his party with family and friends Saturday October 18. We served chili, hot dogs, and snacks and it was a good time. I took all of 3 pictures and none of the birthday boy. Oops.

K’s party was the following Sunday and it did not disappoint!

My sweet girls in purple before the party.

I just love her personality!

How is she 4 already? I feel like I blinked and here she is, this beautiful young person.

Frozen cake via Kroger. Easy peasy, and delicious!

I love this picture of her looking out the window for party guests.

Adley was quickly tended to once party guests started arriving. Best thing about having family around is you always have aunts or grandparents to take baby and feed, change, play etc!DSC_0919

I love having our home full of family and friends!

Little buddies! So fun that these two are in the picture now! I can’t imagine life without these sweet baby girls!

Pinata time! We put up my parents large outdoor tent over the patio for both parties and it was so nice!
