Playdates and Shopping

The Montgomery’s came over this past Wednesday night! We hadn’t seen them in a while and we had so much fun catching up. Hallie is almost 1 and Adley was beside herself playing with a friend her size! She is going to love “school” in the fall!

And Kendall and Caleb hit it off like they always do!

My friend Molly came over the next day and brought baby Adelaide! I hadn’t seen her since she was a few weeks old. She was so mobile and happy!

It is so fun raising babies with friends!!!

Later on I had the bright idea to take the girls to Kohls and the grocery. Kendall fell asleep on the way there.

So I thought I would just keep the dvd players on for Adley and play on my phone while Kendall napped. Nope. Adley had a blow out. After I changed her awkwardly in the front seat, I just let her play there.

Thanks to my friend Erin for the idea, we made a paper chain a few days into Chris’s trip and it has been part of our morning routine. It has really helped Kendall through this ordeal! Ha!

Tomorrow we will have 1 left!

New Hair and a busy weekend of Celebrations!

Pregnancy and Postpartum hair is insane. My hair is thick to begin with and all these hormones make it even more difficut to manage. So I paid $12 to have it whacked off. Now if I could only get a grip on these baby bangs.

Saturday my mom and aunts had an 80th birthday party for my grandma Novella. It was so much fun! Here is a picture of my grandparents with all of their great-grandchildren (minus one in PA and one in utero, ha!).

Sunday, my bff had a sprinkle for baby Hallie. Here is a picture of my cousin Becca holding Adley. I love going to showers/parties with a bitty baby because everyone wants to hold and love on them and I get to eat. Ha!

While Adley and I were at the shower, Chris and Kendall went to hang with my cousin Adam and Caleb at their house. Chris sends me this picture and I about died!

I still can’t see Caleb in the picture. And this was taken after Adam had pulled them out a little ways. Men! Apparently, it was kind of traumatic. Kendall still talks about when her and Caleb ran into a tree last year. Ha!

St Patty's, Dinner, and bouncing on the ball!

We had a great start to our week! One of the benefits of working for your dad is that you have a very overprotective boss. One who isn't ok with his 38+ week pregnant daughter being alone at the office. Everyone was out on a job site yesterday so I spent the morning working from home with my sweet girl.


Don't be fooled by her willing, cute smile! I was holding a box of sno-caps in her face. Yes, I bribe my child with candy to get her to take a picture. Isn't she cute, though?

Working from home for a few hours made me optimistic about my maternity leave. I have been leaning towards keeping Kendall home with me once Adley is here. Call me crazy, but I just don't know if I could handle school drop offs everyday. I might test it out the first week with her going 2-3 days. It would be nice to have some one-on-one time with Adley and for Kendall to have some consistency during this time. We will just see. I need to learn that I can't plan everything and just take these days in stride. Can you tell I'm convincing myself?

We met Tara and Caleb for dinner. Kendall and Caleb are the sweetest friends. I cried when we left them because I just cannot get over how quickly they have grown up. And I'm a pregnant hormonal mess these days. They are just such sweet buddies and they love each other so much!


Daddy had a late baseball game so K and I bounced on our stability balls, played board games, and watched the premiere of Dancing with the Stars. I might watch this season this time around. I love the figure skaters, the snowboarder, and Candace Cameron Bure.


I plan on bouncing on my ball again tonight. It made me kind of crampy and my hips kind of hurt afterwards but it feels so good. Why have I not tried this thing sooner?

Also, I preordered Frozen and it has already been delivered! I'm going to take K to pick out some movie candy and then we will have a movie night after dinner tonight. :) I wonder if she will pick out sno-caps?

Best Cousins Friday Night

Friday night Tara and Caleb came over to play. I served pizza (not cleanse friendly) which the kiddos failed to eat because all they wanted to do was play and giggle. Fine by me!

They got to test out Kendall’s wheels. It was hilarious. Caleb pressed the pedal and Kendall acted like she was steering. So funny! These two have many fun days ahead of them!

Then it was Caleb’s turn at the wheel. Kendall was a typical female not wanting to drive and enjoying the ride!

Kendall’s 2nd Birthday Part One

Planning a 2nd birthday party is WAY different than planning a first birthday. I guess you could say mom becomes more a procrastinator? Whatever the case, be expecting a few birthday posts because I took over 200 pictures.

I decided to go will a fall-ish theme for Kendall’s 2nd birthday this year.

I sat up the cupcakes, drinks and food inside out home. These pictures were taken before everything was out – oh well, you get the point! We served regular beef chili, white chicken chili, piggies in a blanket, veggies/dip, apples/caramel dip, chips and cupcakes!

We knew our big backyard would be the perfect setting for everyone and we had temps in the high 70s!

We sat up a tent and tables in the backyard for everyone to sit!

I wanted to take a picture of everyone parked in our yard! Have I mentioned I love all of our space? Compared to our house/yard last year – I am in LOVE!

We were blessed with the most beautiful day and the BEST company! We have such great friends and family. It was a perfect day!

Iphone Dump

Since it’s been a billion days since I updated this blog I figured I would share what we’ve been up to via my Iphone pictures.

My sweet grandma made Kendall this adorable outfit. Kendall loved it so much, she wore it to school on Friday and to daddy’s softball game!

After the game, we had to go “ check on the baseball field”. Imagine that. I snapped this cute picture of the coach and his number 1 fan!

My friend Jacqueline is getting married! I have been asked to be a part of the wedding and I’m so excited for her! Jacqueline is a wonderful single mom and God has truly blessed her with a great man. Kendall and Ethan had a movie date while the adults ate a wonderful dinner in their home.

 

Fast forward through a non exciting work week and it’s the weekend!

Kendall and I ran some errands Saturday morning that included a happy meal and new shoes. Yay!

I though this was too funny not to share… Kendall was being really quiet which can only mean she’s up to no good. Sure enough… girlfriend was writing herself a check!

Sunday Chris was wrapping up a baseball tournament so we spent the day at the pool. Kendall wore her life jacket around the house all morning so I sent it to my dad and he said we would take the boat out later.

Chris went on a guys trip Sun-Tues with 3 other baseball coaches. They went to a Cardinal’s game in St. Louis.  Kendall and I missed him so much! Ha!

And had some friends over and dressed up like princesses. :)

Aside from that we did miss Chris. I hate being home alone at night and Kendall kept asking, “ Where’s daddy?” We are happy to have him home.

So that’s what we’ve been up to… enjoying the end of summer and enjoying time as a family. LOVE!
