Home Office and Kitchen Lounge

This was supposed to be a summer break project but I couldn't handle the clutter any longer.
Still in need of some type of bedframe. That's the crib headboard so I need to figure out a solution for this so it can be a guest bedroom space.

This room is very large so I am also thinking about making it a little crafting space for my sewing machine and Silhouette Cameo. I might see if Chris can build me a corner craft table or something.

This area has been bare forever. I decided to move a loveseat from our living room set in here and warm this space up. I am in love with these curtains. It goes with my vintage Americana farmhouse flare that is in my kitchen.

Master Bathroom Makeover

Eventually we will update this bathroom, but for now I gave it a little face lift.

I didn't bother moving all my cosmetics off the counter because let's be honest, they are always there!

Foyer & Dining Room

I love a formal dining room. We don't use ours. Shocker! It's more of a catch all. However, when it is used (for parties, etc) it is really nice to have,

Here's the view of our front foyer. To the left is our formal living room and to the right is our dining room. I love the tile in this area.

I redid this piece of furniture when we moved in. LOVE it.

I have plans to recover the chairs and get new curtains. It just hasn't been a priority for me!

I love this dining set and I love placing pretty things in the hutch.

Any ideas on what (if?) I should put anything on the walls in here?

Living Rooms

Linking up with Kelly's home tour this summer sounded like a fun way to show the rest of the new house off! Today's subject is living rooms! I feel like this post is kind of lazy because I really don't want to tidy up both rooms to take pictures at the moment. I will just plan on updating later.

We have a HUGE formal living room. When my parents lived here we NEVER used this room growing up. It was so many different things, but mostly an office, and never a living room. Ha! Well, we don't sit in here all the time but it fits our big furniture just fine. I could envision building built ins with a fire place on the far blank wall. I feel like that would give it a lot of character.

This picture was taken the morning of Adley's 2nd Birthday!

Since then I have moved the love seat out of the living room and placed it in our "den" off the kitchen. Chris and I disagreed about what this space should be used for. He wanted a table here since it's in the kitchen, plus that's what my parents had here. Womp Womp. Well, originally before the original renovation, this was your basic 1970's wood panelling den and it was closed off. I wanted it to be a space where the girls could hang while I cook or I could listen to my DVR shows while I clean the kitchen or fold laundry.
So here it is...

I have plans to replace the mantle with a barnwood style mantle and get a bigger tv and hide the cords in the wall. Or should I say Chris is going to do that. The decor is what I call Americana Chic. It matches my kitchen style seen here.

Rooms for the Girls

It has come to my attention that I have MAJORLY slacking on posting pictures of our house! I took some the last time it was really clean (lol) so I will show it off! Enjoy!

Today, I will begin with the girls' rooms. First up is their shared bathroom!

Next, is the adorable room that belongs to Adley Kate!

We've yet to set up her bed because she falls ALOT.  Her bed is identical to Kendall's.

I LOVE that the girls have 2 closets in their rooms. One for toys and the other for clothes.

Now to Kendall's room... she has this cute little entryway.

Shopkins city is going on! Ha!

Kendall needs some wall decor and curtains like YESTERDAY! Hoping to whip that up this summer!

My New Kitchen

I took these pictures during a snow day after I had put all our Christmas decorations away. I am hoping to take some more this weekend, since my house is clean for Adley's birthday party!

Living Room Changes

One of my many favorite features about this house are the floor to ceiling windows in the front. They are amazing! You just don't see this kind of character in homes anymore! My friend gave me these beautiful curtains that match my color scheme and I wanted to use them but I only have 2 panels.

Here were my inspiration photos...

He

Here is how it looks in my living room! It was weird the first few days. I contemplated buying 2 more panels to match, but I really don't want a lot of fabric hanging up over the windows.

Chris hates it! Haha
It's growing on me. I bought one of those sunburst mirrors to put over the tv and in between the windows. So, for now it stays!

The Week Before Christmas Break!!!

Christmas Break could not have gotten here any quicker! One of my coworkers said that baby Jesus was born at the perfect time of the year because we are sick of these students and the students are sick of us! We all need the break!

Unfortunately, the week before break started out kind of somber for our family. Chris's grandfather passed away. It's always sad to lose a love one but it is tough when it's around this time of year.

I was so proud of them this day. I had planned to only stay with the girls a few hours, but we ended up staying most of the day. They were so well behaved.

Chris decorated our house for Christmas and we were so excited!

The girls in matching Elsa pjs!

I met Chris and the girls after school one night that week for dinner. My favorite!

Milkshakes for all!

Our sweet neighbors gave the girls a gift! They gave them this gingerbread person kit! They had so much fun. I love our neighbors!

It's coming along...

Chris decided to build a bar and it is awesome!! The tv looks small in this picture but I swear this was our best idea ever! We drank wine and watched NEtflix every night during Christmas break! AWESOME!

Ugly Christmas sweater day at school!

And the best day, the last day! It was pj day too!

The 2nd Grade team!!!

My parents gifted us a popcorn machine for Christmas for our theater basement. It's amazing!!

Here it is with the bar. Lacking 1 movie poster in this picture!

Adley's teacher sent me these pictures of Adley at her school Christmas party. It's so funny to me because 1) she's adorable and 2) she definitely brought home a different gift other than the one she is opening in this picture. Haha

They had PJ day too!
