Girls just want to have fun!

While daddy is away, the girls will play!

We’ve had a busy couple of days!

Yesterday we got all dressed up to go do some activities. I posted this picture of Adley’s hair. Girlfriend has what I call a reverse mullet. Her hair is very long on top. It’s too weird to get a cut so we just get creative with styling it.

Our local library was recently rebuilt and it is BEAUTIFUL! I cannot believe it has taken us this long to check it out. The plan was to sign them up for the summer reading program and attend story time. Well, I got the forms for summer reading and we checked out a few books, but we totally ditched story time. They have this neat interactive area for kids, so while all the moms and kids went to story time, we practically had the area to ourselves.

Then Adley started running through the book aisles and attempted to stand on the giant IPAD. So, we had to go!

Next up, McDonald’s! I took them inside which is always difficult because they don’t bring your food to you. IMG_3637IMG_3638

I knew I was pushing my limit with Adley, but I really wanted to get the groceries over with. She is starting to take one big nap during the day so that should allow us time to do more things.

I turn the air on full blast and let them play in their seats while I load the car!

This morning I let the girls play with Adley’s bows and headbands. Adley is always fascinated by them hanging in her room so I thought, why not?

We spent a few hours at the pool today and it was so nice!

We are really getting a hang of summer!

Snowmaggedon

I haven’t worked in 9 days! 9 DAYS!!!!

We got some snow last weekend and then we had some frigid temps, so school was cancelled all week. And it was amazing! We did not leave the house for 5 days and it was glorious.

Here is a glimpse of what we did…

Days 1 and 2 were a bunch of fun. The snow is pretty and we have enough m&ms to last a few days so we love the snow.

Then it gets old and we get a little stir crazy. We visit across the street and do some home staging. Ha!

I even made Kendall practice writing because she was watching too much TV and missing school all week.

And Friday we HAD to get out of the house! So we did. And we bought a treadmill. Thank you tax refund!IMG_2317  IMG_2326

And this weekend has been fun too!

The girls and I hit up SAMS club solo today and they were so good!

Like our Mommy & Me Frozen scarves? My sister makes them. Message me if you’re interested!

Tomorrow I am prepared to go back to work. I really am over the snow days. I wouldn’t hate having more family time though, they are pretty fabulous!

And to justify being a teacher and getting snow days, I did some teacher work too. Lesson planning, report carding, and some optimistic pinteresting… Ha!

A Girl and her dog

Kendall and Wilson are thick as thieves these days. Ever since Kendall started sleeping in a big girl bed she loves for Wilson to get up there with her. Chris and I would love it if he would just sleep in there because then we would have more leg room, but that will probably be a hard habit to break.

In the mornings when I am up and getting ready, Wilson will go lay at the end of her bed. I think it is so sweet. He doesn't like to be alone and he loves being the first one to see her after she wakes up. He is the perfect dog to have with kids.

And he is a good sport. Exhibit A:

Wilson decked out in one of her princess dresses. And of course she is wearing a tutu behind him.

And of course he needed a bow too.

I have many captions for this face.

My favorite part of this lovely Sunday morning was when Kendall was chasing Wilson around the house saying, "Cinderella, come back here!"

Thrifty Tuesday: Kendall’s Coloring Caddy

Kendall has a plethora of artistic options. Some of these options are kept hidden in our office. Example: PAINT! And some are kept out, since girlfriend has never really been one to get all Picasso on the walls. (Yet.)

Similar to her school, I am implementing organization with her things so she knows where her stuff is and where they need to go when she is done playing. I will have to elaborate more on this later. I am by no means finished with toy organization. In fact, it overwhelms me. Ha!

But, I believe in baby steps and I can control this!

Here I have created a little basket that is home to all Kendall’s coloring and handwriting needs.

Kendalls coloring caddy

I purchased a $1 plastic caddy from the Dollar Tree to hold everything. I used two large ziplocks to house coloring utensils and ALL the stickers! And then I found this cute apple sand toy for Kendall to use when she just wants a few crayons out. I also placed a plastic cup in the basket when it is necessary to have colored pencils on display.

So far the caddy has been a success. She knows where to find her things and it keeps me sane not having coloring stuff everywhere. No fancy art caddy or crayon box needed here! This cost me $1 considering I had everything else!

Disney World 2013

Earlier this month we travelled with my parents and sister to Disney World! It was such a great time. Kendall and Chris had never been before so it was really exciting. Kendall had a blast and I can’t wait to take our “girls” (so fun to say that) back in a few years. Here are some pictures from our trip…
