New Years Resolutions

This year I am making general resolutions like the rest of the world. Save money, eat better, lose weight, blah, blah, blah... but I am resolving to be more present with my kids.

I saw this on facebook and it brought me to tears.

Kendall asks me to play with her all the time. Sometimes I do, a lot of the time I do not. I need to make dinner, clean the house, work on school stuff, or I just tell her to give me five minutes.

My girls do not care about how many toys they have or if our house is clean. They want their mom.
My goal is to be more conscious of their little hearts and their wants and be present for them. I can stay up late and wake up early to accomplish what I need to do, but I can never make more time with them. They will never be as little as they are today.

My 30th Birthday Party!!!

I have the best cousins in the world!! Last summer I mentioned to Liz that I was dreading my 30th birthday, so she and my cousins decided to throw me a party! Since we bought a new house we had it here!

Getting ready!

The beautiful hosts! I love each and every one of these ladies! They are so special to me!

My cake was AMAZING!

Only a few pictures were taken! Typical Shelli fashion!

I made a little toast! I should've written a speech!

Red hair, Recital, and Santa

I went to a new hair place because my mom gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. Here I am the next morning sitll freaking out that my hair looked red. It wasn't supposed to be this color!

It didn't look that bad the next day in natural sunlight. I haven;t changed it. Now I have no clue where to go for my next appointment or what to have done. Ugh!

Kendall ready to go dance!

Before the show!

During her dance! My pics were awful. Sorry!

They did so good!

I was in tears watching her on stage. She genuinely enjoys dancing and is so good!

All the little girls in their pretty costumes wanted to climb the little wall outside the auditorium. Since I paid $55 for the costume she will never wear again, I let her! ;) You're only 5 once!

Naps for everyone after recital!

Funny store I must document: Kendall has this thing about cleaning out her toes. And Adley is going to grow up thinking its completely normal for your sister to clean the lint from between your toes. Bahahaha

Later that evening... Santa was making a visit to my grandparent's house because my Grandma had just gotten out of the hospital.

Neither of my kids would pose with Santa, so David and I took a selfie with him.

Santa with my grandparents!

Kendall finally took a picture with him if Uncle David would do it with her!

Adley looks demented! Ha!

I have to share this picture of Adley in Kendall's hairpiece from dance. Adley was mesmerized during the recital and wanted to watch the dance video over and over. She loves her big sister and everything she does. It won't be long until Adley is taking dance classes too!

Christmas Trees and Fall Festival

As soon as we moved in to this house I was ready to decorate for Christmas. I think it was because I didn't get to decorate for Fall because we were in the middle of selling/moving our other house.

We purchased a purple tree for Kendall so both girls have a tree in their rooms now.

We put our big tree up! This baby is on it's last leg. This was the tree we bought for our first Christmas in 2008. You can see where the prelit lights have gone out. Ha!

Chris takes students on a 2 week biology expedition every summer. This year will be his 3rd year. The group fund raises ALL year long. One of the big fundraisers they do is a fall festival. This year it was HUGE!

Look cute to go shop some craft booths!

My parents came too!

Group shot!

Chris and I Sunday night! We watch this show called Quantico and we were having a date night. :)

One of my purchases from the craft fair.

My mother in law bought me this while she was there for my birthday.
It's my favorite sweatshirt to wear!!

November Part 2

While we were moving Laiken's parents invited Kendall to go shopping with them. They had the best time!

We closed on our old house on November 10 and the new one on November 13 so we moved in the new house on the 7th & 8th.

Here we are the first Monday after sleeping in our new home! This is our out the door selfie on the way to school!

This is a space I don't really know what to do with. As soon as I get Christmas taken down and get my house cleaned up I will post pictures of everything.

Chris fixing up his new home gym!

We didn't set up the crib when we moved. At 19-20 months we transitioned her to the toddler bed and she has done AWESOME!

Family Sleepyhead Selfie

I love the girls bathroom. They are so cute getting ready in here each day!
