Christmas Break Part 2

This picture of Adley sums up the second week of Christmas break for the Ryan household.

We were lazy, addicted to Making a Murdered, and it was awesome.

Our new theater room got a ton of use by all...

We played lots of Barbies...

Stayed up late watching SVU and eating popcorn!

We visited with my Grandma Tootie!

We celebrated on new Years Eve!

NYE 2014 vs. 2015 They grow up soooooo fast!

K passed out around 11.

Adley was out way before that!

Christmas Break was amazing. It is my favorite teacher break because we are stuck indoors and we get lots of family time in!

The one with binge watching Friends and Family Feud

I never realized how great of a show Friends is… until it became available on Netflix. Any chance I get, where I am alone and want to be unproductive, I catch an episode or two. Are you watching?

I never watched the show when it was on until the end because it ran while I was middle and high school and I was more of a Dawson’s Creek gal. I’ve seen a lot of episodes because they are always playing in syndication, but there are so many they do not show.

I also have realized Monica annoys the crap out of me. She looks older than she plays and her character is annoying. Of course, I’m a Ross/Rachel fan. And I never realized how funny Chandler and Phoebe’s characters were… ha! Yes, I am writing a post about a TV show at 11:15 pm on a Friday night. Anyone else binge watching Friends?

On a side note, ever heard of the Family Feud? I spell feud like fued every time I write it and correct myself immediately. Anyway, they announced that auditions were being held in Louisville (where I live) and my cousins and I jumped on the opportunity. We got together last Sunday and made a video.

AND WE GOT AN AUDITION!!! FEB 7th BABY!!!!!

Fall TV TIME!!!!!!!!!!! Linkup on Tuesday!

I may have a full calendar these days, but I always have time for TV. And my family of course. Ha!
If you're new around here, let me tell you how this works.

I make up a TV schedule every year beginning in September because thats when all the shows come back and new shows premiere. I then check all my dvr settings (because I have 2 dvr's lol) to make sure there are no scheduling issues. It's almost like Christmas.

There is nothing better than catching all your shows where they left off (the New Girl, Grey's duh!) and trying out some new shows.

Here are my TV schedules from years past... 2012, 2011, 2010,

So start making your schedule out or just blog about a new show you will be watching and link up tomorrow using the following button.

Miss Fashionable, Mourning and 20 minute run

Happy Weekend! Kendall and I are living it up and enjoying this beautiful weather at home. My other half, Chris, is in a deer stand somewhere since it is opening weekend of gun season in KY.
Yesterday I dressed Kendall in this cute sweater my mom bought for her. Every woman at Kroger complimented her on her choice of clothing. After nap time, I managed to snap a few pictures of Miss Fashionable playing on her swing set.
DSC_0432 DSC_0433 DSC_0434

So Felicity is over. :( I feel like I’ve just broken up with Ben and Noel. The last season was kind of slow and the ending was odd, but I miss it. I guess it’s probably for the best. I need to get back to my dvr and family. Ha!
Running:
So I waited a whole 10 days in between C25K Week5 run 2 and 3. Run 2 had you run 2 8 minutes runs with a 5 minute break. Week 3 has you run for a straight 20 minutes. Ouch. I was hurting. I ran the first 8 minutes, walked for 2, ran a few more minutes, walked a few more minutes and then made myself run the last 5 minutes.
I have GOT to be more disciplined about getting my runs in during the week. I feel so much better when I am consistent. I’m going to move forward with the program but I feel like in order for it to work I can’t take 10 days off. Sorry Shelli, get off the couch… I mean Netflix. I blame my 10 day hiatus on Ben & Felicity.

FALL TV Premiere Link Party!

It's here. The most wonderful time of year. You know I'm talking about the premieres of all our favorite and new TV shows! There is nothing better than sitting on the couch in sweatpants, eating chili and watching some fall tv!

Now don't judge me by my fall tv schedule! Ha! I do have a life that keeps me busy. I RARELY watch tv when my shows are actually on. I catch up during chores, on the weekends or when I really am just being lazy watching tv.

Also, I am really disappointed with the new show selection this year. Boo.

Fall 2011 TV Review Part 2

Ok so this is a few weeks late but I wanted to update about my Fall TV Schedule. So important, right?

My original schedule can be found to the left of the blog or here.

Here is Part One of my Fall 2011 TV Review here.

Shows I have stopped watching because I don't like them...
Up All Night - I just couldn't bare it.
Free Agents - Boring...

Gossip Girl
This has been a guilty pleasure of mine since it aired. I love a good teen drama. It's kind of getting ridiculous... I mean everyone can only hook up with eachother so many times and there are only so many storylines they can do... but I'm still watching. I share this same kind of relationship with Greys Anatomy. I've watched them both from the beginning and I just. can't. stop.

Hart of Dixie
I think this show is really cute and I hope they don't cancel it. It's kind of bad with all of it's "southern" quirks and Rachel Bilson isn't that great at playing a serious doctor but... I like it!

The Middle
This show is super cheesy but it has that family familiarity I just love. In no way am I comparing it to the awesomeness that was Roseanne... however, it kind of reminds me of that show in a weird way. The paycheck to paycheck family and sibling rivalry just hit home in a way that I find funny!

Suburgatory
I guarantee this show will be cancelled. It's kind of funny but really silly. The suburbs aren't that bad. I like the main character so I have watched the first two episodes.

The Office
I really hope this is the last season. I love this show and I've watched every episode which is why I want it to come to an end on it's own terms and not get cancelled. I thought an Office with no Micheal Scott would be terrible but it's actually been kind of funny. I love Andy as manager and he surprisingly has some of the same qualities M. Scott did as a boss.

Grey's Anatomy
After George & Izzie hooked up in season 4 or 5 (I can't remember) I wanted to stop watching the show. I loved Grey's Anatomy in the Addison/Burke era and I have always loved the writing for the show. I can't give up on Grey's. Although I'm not 100% impressed with the last few seasons and I hope for the show's sake it's going to come to an end... I love the new cast. I love Avery (hotness) and where has Lexi been the last few episodes? I will stand by Grey's until the end but I wish they would wrap things up.

Pan Am
I have a feeling this one will get cancelled. I love the era and if you knew me in real life you would know I once considered being a flight attendant. Ok... maybe it was a thought I had for a few days until I realized it was just a glamourized waitress and I hated waiting tables!!! Anyways... I like the show but not sure if it has the "it" factor to stay on TV!

Sister Wives
OMG. These people are C.R.A.Z.Y. It's like a bad wreck that you can't help but look at. I am so intrigued by polygamy and how it all works. Here are my thoughts...
1. How are these women not crazy jealous of each other?
2. All of Kody's kids are sooooo going to need lots of therapy.
3. If I was going to be in a polygamist relationship it would be someone hot.... not Kody Brown... just sayin!

Do you watch these shows??? Thoughts????

Fall 2011 TV Review (so far!) Part ONE

Ok... I know premiere week is far from over and I still have lots of shows waiting to be viewed in my dvr BUT.... I must talk about what I've seen so far!!!

***** If you haven't watched any of these shows yet - skip this post!*****

Also if you want to see my 2011 tv schedule go here.

UP ALL NIGHT
I wasn't going to watch this show at first but decided to tune in last week because nothing else was on that night. I had high hopes for Christina Applegate and the cast was very likeable. However I'm just not feeling it. I didn 't really find the humor that realistic... it all felt like they were trying too hard. I don't know if the show has a baseline plot to keep it going once the baby starts sleeping through the night. I mean I get that they used to party with her Oprah-like boss but it kind of lacked more substance. I will watch the second and third episode to see if it catches on.

FREE AGENTS
I had loosely heard about this show and saw that the first episode was on my ON Demand. The male character is depressed, just went through a divorce and the female character lost her fiance last year and has pictures of him all over her apartment. Naturally, they are sleeping together and working through their issues. I kind of liked this show. I think the plot is typical but I enjoyed it. I will watch again.

WHITNEY
I watched a stand up special on Whitney one time and ever since then I've been a big fan. Girl is hilarious... especially when talking about women/relationships/men/sex etc. This is another show that hasn't premiered yet but I found the pilot on my On Demand. So funny! I think this show is a keeper!!!

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER ***Potential spoiler if you haven't watched yet!***
I love this show! I kind of thought the whole "Robyn still having feelings for Barney story" is ridiculous. I soooooo don't want them together. I love that Marshall and Lily are preggers and I'm so excited about Victoria being at the architecture ball. I've always wanted her to come back. I have always thought she was the "mother" but I know they wouldn't bring her on so soon. I think the show will run atleast one more season after this one so we know we will find out at some point!

2 BROKE GIRLS
I decided to record this Monday night for the heck of it! It was cheesy, but cute. I like the concept but I see this one getting cancelled. The one liners are funny but kind of predictable. I will keep watching it anyway. :)

GLEE
I have a bad feeling about Glee. I loved the first season and I loved the newness/freshness it brought to my tv lineup. I'm a former musical theater major, ya'll so you know I love me a good random showtune in the cafeteria.... BUT it's kind of old. I don't see many options of this show keeping up... they can't follow the GLEE kids to college (like Dawson's creek) and a new Glee cast wouldn't go over well. I mean we all know what happened to Saved by The Bell when they came out with "the New Class".... wtf?

NEW GIRL
I love Zoey! I think this show will be cute! I spent the whole time watching the show wondering which of the roomates she would be in a relationship with!!! Ha!

MODERN FAMILY
I love this show. I don't think the 2 premiere episodes were the best of modern family. They've had funnier epsiodes for sure! But I love all the characters and storylines and I know this season will be great!!

What are your thoughts on any of these shows??

I will do another post sometime next week... I still have lots of shows to watch that haven't premiered yet!!!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

NO! I’m not referring to Christmas people! Or back to school or even the wonderfulness of FALL!
I’m talking about September TV Premieres!!!!!! Old shows returning and new show pilots… doesn’t that just make you giddy????
I’m crazy obsessed with my DVR and TV. In fact, what I’m about to share with you may make you think the following…
1. This girl is crazy and has no life and sits on her butt and watches TV all day
2. This girl too much free time and is way too organized when it comes to her DVR schedule
Let me explain myself… I rarely watch these shows when they actually come on. I watch some after Kendall has gone to sleep, on weekends when I’m bored and when I’m folding laundry or something.
Here are the shows currently listed under my “SERIES RECORDINGS” aka “shows that record automatically every time there is a new episode for you people who don’t dvr.
Glee, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, 19 Kids & Counting, Grey’s Anatomy, The Middle, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Shameless, Sister Wives, Real Housewives of OC, Cupcake Wars, True Blood, Take the Money & Run, Friends with Benefits
That’s 16 if you counted them all. Not all of these shows are in season at the same time. For example, quite a few of them like True Blood come on during the summer.
This is not even including Teen Mom & Jersey Shore. Yes I watch those too. Go ahead and act like you don’t watch those train wrecks. I act like I don’t watch them too by not having them “scheduled to record” but I don’t miss an episode.
So now let’s get to my crazy, obsessive tv scheduling, shall we???
Here’s my new fall lineup which includes my regular shows and new pilots I’d like to check out. These are only the BIG primetime stations because I couldn’t find a full lineup. Seriously though… if we were including ALL the stations I hit up I’d need to import an excel spreadsheet. Ha!
Shelli’s 2011 Fall Primetime TV Lineup

(If you’re interested in reading my same post about this last year… go here – p.s. I’m so sad Better with You was cancelled – I thought that show was adorbs!)
Feel free to blog about your crazy, obsessive TV watching and leave me your link. I’d love to see your lineup!!! Maybe I should make this a bloggy link up thing if I’m not the only one??
But I am probably the only one who makes a tv schedule. Ha! I’m nuts!

Happenings...

I've been kind of quiet these past few days on the blog. Nothing to write about! I have been working during the day and watching tv at night! Ha!
Let's discuss the highlights shall we?
Tuesday night was a new episode of GLEE... and can we just say I am so so so excited about next week's episode because it is a tribute to Ms. Britney Spears.

Last night was a big tv night that included Modern Family. I LOVE that show! Seriously if you are not watching you NEED to be!

In baby news... I have been searching for the perfect outfit for Ms. Kendall's 1st photos at the hospital. I am having no luck! I'm so picky and I have this perfect outfit in mind but I can't find anything like it!!! I want something like this little romper except minus the polk a dots and more dainty!!
I've kind of taken a break from nesting... or I've run out of things to do! Ha! I'm pretty sure I will be cleaning my house big time over the next 32 days... because that's all I have left to do.

After this weekend all my big commitments and plans are non existent. All I have going on in October is 1) Hubby's 26th birthday and 2) the birth of our first child. I want to spend every minute until Kendall's birthday nesting and relaxing and enjoying being a couple. I'm tired of being so busy and I know when Kendall is here things will seem hectic so I want to enjoy these last few weeks with her in my belly. I actually look forward to my maternity leave because it will be so nice spending time in our home with our brand new baby. Not to mention I will be off during all the holidays. It's going to be so nice!

Fall TV Excitement

Those of you who know me well or who have read this blog from the beginning know that I am a little obsessed with tv. Honestly aside from chili, sweaters and roasting marshmallows ... it's probably my favorite fall tradition to check out the NEW tv lineup!!!

To be quite honest... I'm a little disappointed with the new shows coming out. I usually dvr a bunch of new show pilots anyway and then weed them out but this year I'm stick to a strict schedule. Ha!

Here is my viewing (or should I say) DVR tv schedule starting in september!

Monday
8PM - How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
9PM - Gossip Girl (CW)
9:30 PM - Mike & Molly (CBS) ***** New show/trial run *****
Tuesday
8 PM - GLEE (Fox)
Wednesday
8PM - The Middle (ABC)
8:30 PM - Better with You (ABC) ***** New show/trial run ******
9:00 PM - Modern Family (ABC)
Thursday
9PM - Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
9PM - The Office (ABC)

There you have it! My DVR will be getting a workout this year! If the previews to Biggest Loser look good I will throw that into my Tuesday lineup.
I know what you're thinking ... how will I have time for all this TV when Kendall is here? Well my answer to that is I'm going to have to watch something to keep me awake during late night feedings!!!!

Overload

I'm on vacation planning overload. I have looked up way too many flights, hotels etc. etc. that now my brain is friend. I'm going to stop and when we are ready to book something I will book it. I love how I consider 23 days away from when our vacation starts "planning ahead". What can I say? We are last minute people. I'm sure we will have something booked before June 1st!

Did I mention there are only 19 days away from us finding out the gender of our child?

Along with planning our 2 year anniversary trip/babymoon I have been watching alot of season finales this week! If you do not watch the shows feel free to skip this post all together. However if you watch any of these please COMMENT!

One Tree Hill - I've kind of watched this season on and off but decided to watch the last 30 minutes of the finale and OMG! I can't share the details but let's just say 2 people get shot!

Gossip Girl - I'm not so sure how I feel about the whole Dan/Serena relationship again. I always figured they would go back to this since it was such a main theme in the first season but I liked Serena with Nate. Also - Lily & Fufus are married and shared a love child - that would just be weird if Serena & Dan get all cozy again considering they share a half brother - just saying!

Did you watch GLEE last night?
I love this show! It makes me so happy! I love the singing and all the cutesy storylines. I do have one complaint about it though - I feel like they have covered too much in the first season and I'm afraid about how the other seasons will play out. Eventually some of the students will graduate and then what?

I'm really excited to watch the Modern Family, The Middle, The Office & Grey's Anatomy season finales tonight and tomorrow!!!!

As much as I love my TV I'm looking forward to all the shows being over for the season. I need a tv break. I need to get some things done around the house. I'm excited about laying out by the pool and getting together with friends more. I'm excited about our trip in June no matter what we end up doing. I'm excited about setting up the nursery. This summer will be fun being pregnant and I can return to TV when I'm all uncomfortable again in the fall. :)

TV & Debt Talk

Happy Friday peeps!
Thursday was pretty uneventful. I went home from work, walked with Heather, washed the bed linens, folded laundry and caught up on DVR.
Speaking of TV - if you're not watching the following shows YOU NEED TO BE!
The Middle (ABC)
You have got to watch the Mother's Day episode! LOL
Modern Family
I have no clue how to get a youtube video posted on here. But this is one of my favorite clips from the show!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7pnGp2sr64

I don't know if I have mentioned this obsession before but I LOVE the show TRUE BLOOD.

It premieres June 13th and I might be just as excited about season 3 as I am finding out the sex of our baby. Okay not really!

This show is like a dark comedy with hot vampires.

I have read 4 out of the 8 books from the Sookie Stackhouse series. I never thought I'd like this kind of supernatural stuff but the storylines are so good between all the characters!

What are your favorite shows?

I also received this in the mail today FREE from a new mom program with my insurance. I chose a DVD because I thought Chris is more likely to watch a baby DVD versus read a baby book! Plus when I'm holding my little angel nursing or something or trying to calm the baby down at 3 am this might be something I can pop into the dvd player! Ha!

I'm taking Chris to go look at baby furniture this weekend. We will not purchase anything until we know what we're having but I think it's smart to kind of prepare financially for these kind of purchases!

Speaking of finances - I have this bill sheet I use every month. I keep record of all our debt balances (car loans, student loans, credit cards, furniture payments) monthly so I can see the progress we are making each month. According to my bill sheets since June 2009 we have paid off $11,582.59 in debt! Woohoo! Out of 7 credit accounts I have eliminated one student loan and two credit cards completly. On top of that the 4 remaining credit accounts (student loan, car loan, furniture, polaris) all have dramatically lower balances and will be paid off in 1 year because our balance on all of them is less than the debt we have paid off already! Woohoo!

I really would love to buy a more family friendly vehicle before the baby comes like these:

But now I'm thinking I should just wait until we have all these debts paid off. The thought of having 2 car payments right now makes me want to puke. I hate making car payments!
I mean it will stink taking a car seat in and out of my 2 door car that is PAID OFF! :) Seen here.
But it's only temporary, right?
Have a GREAT weekend!!!!!
