Thanksgiving 2015

My outfit for Thanksgiving #1

The girls playing at Gma and Gpa Ryan's house!

Passed out from fun!

Thanksgiving #2

Passed out again!

Chris and I Black Friday (Thursday night) Shopping for new TVs

New TV for the basement we purchased for a deal!

Christmas Trees and Fall Festival

As soon as we moved in to this house I was ready to decorate for Christmas. I think it was because I didn't get to decorate for Fall because we were in the middle of selling/moving our other house.

We purchased a purple tree for Kendall so both girls have a tree in their rooms now.

We put our big tree up! This baby is on it's last leg. This was the tree we bought for our first Christmas in 2008. You can see where the prelit lights have gone out. Ha!

Chris takes students on a 2 week biology expedition every summer. This year will be his 3rd year. The group fund raises ALL year long. One of the big fundraisers they do is a fall festival. This year it was HUGE!

Look cute to go shop some craft booths!

My parents came too!

Group shot!

Chris and I Sunday night! We watch this show called Quantico and we were having a date night. :)

One of my purchases from the craft fair.

My mother in law bought me this while she was there for my birthday.
It's my favorite sweatshirt to wear!!

Last Weekend Alone

I knew if we could make it through this weekend, Chris would be home before we know it on Wednesday.

Saturday we had a chill day at home. I read an entire book. Check out my READ WITH ME page if you’re interested in romance novels. Ha!

Let me just talk about little Adley real quick. Girlfriend is hilarious these days. This is her favorite place to observe the world. I put a stool there so she could look out the window.

IMG_3808

She is very much into climbing anything and everything these days.

IMG_3809

And she is LOVING baby dolls. She kept throwing her baby in the stroller and saying, “Ray Go” which I am translating as, “Ready to go?”

Later on, we went out with my dad and brother to Mark’s Feed Store. It’s a local bbq chain and it’s my favorite!!

They have this pig out front that every kid must sit on when they visit. Or at least mine think that!

Funny Story: Strangers always comment on how different my kids look. One blonde, one brunette and they look nothing alike but both somehow look like me. Anyway, typically, I overshare with said stranger somehow making it very clear that they know the girls share the same father. Why? I don’t know. I’m just like that. lol

Anyhow, our waiter commented how Kendall looks like her dad… aka my brother sitting next to her. I was like, “Well, he’s my brother!” Yuck!

Sunday all I could think about was a Pizza Hut cheese pizza. I used to never order plain cheese pizza! Have you tried their new crust flavors? YUM! I promise they aren’t paying me for this shout out. They should!

That afternoon we headed over to my parents to swim and my SAINT of a mother was all, “Here’s $20 in Kohl’s cash that expires today! We will watch the kids while you go shop and have some Shelli time!”

She didn’t have to tell me twice. Thanks, mom!

IMG_3821IMG_3822

I will talk more about this in another post, but I’ve been working out and losing inches. And it was nice to try on things and actually like the way they fit. I’m loving these skinny jeans!

IMG_3823

And I bought some new kicks! Aren’t they adorable?

Kendall begged to go home after I got back so she could play with her BFF Laiken. They catch lightening bugs every night and last night, decided to catch a frog. Ha! Sugar and spice…

I love my husband and cannot wait for him to be home, but I have really enjoyed this time at home. Ha! I haven’t had to cook big meals or wear makeup. Not that he requires either of those things, but it’s been nice to have some much needed chill time with my little ladies.

Shopping Shenanigans

Tuesday we ventured out to our local SAMs club with my mom. I just love buying things in bulk and my purchases are always so random. I purchased a bag of parmesan encrusted tilapia, a big bag of Boom Chicka Pop, a dress for K, and an inflatable pool. Ha!

I thought the pool would be nice for Kendall to have in the backyard. My parents have an in ground pool across the street but nothing beats a good kiddie pool in your own backyard! And for $30 you can’t beat it!

Kendall was loving this chaise lounge. Ha!

Funny story about this picture… We will title it, “You might be a redneck if you nurse your baby in a Liquor Barn parking lot”.

We aren’t drinkers at all. My hubs drinks an occasional beer, but I rarely drink. Maybe once every 2-3 years. Ha! Anyway, my mom had a coupon for the Liquor Barn she got in some Christmas Bazaar basket and she was going to use it to buy decorations for my brothers college graduation party.

Well, as soon as she went in the store Adley woke up hungry! So I crawled myself to the third row cargo area and nursed her! Ha! No shame in my game. My baby has to eat!

Weekend Fun

We had such a wonderful weekend spending time together as a family. For some reason, I have been really sentimental about our family dynamics changing. I am so excited and in love with sweet Adley in my belly but there is this piece of me that is mourning the loss of my family of three. I know it's silly, and I probably won't even look back because we will have this new family member and new love in our lives, I just am trying to soak up these last few weeks.

I am also soaking up salt. Swelling has started. These are my legs all propped up Friday night. I also have been explaining to Kendall why I can't hold her or pick her up as much. I told her my back hurt one day and asked if she would pick something up off the floor for me, so now she asks me all the time if my back still hurts.

She also asked me how I knew there was a baby in my belly this morning on the way to school. I told her I was feeling tired and a little sick so the doctor told me there was a baby in there. Ha!

It was 60 degrees in Louisville on Saturday. Beautiful!! Kendall got to spend some time on the trampoline and Chris washed my car. I enjoyed watching the people I love. :)

Kendall also got some bike practice in. She did so good! She rode it over to Grandma's house (across the street) and didn't ask once to stop!

Saturday night we went downtown to hit up the Kentucky Science Museum. It's $5 after 5pm and we thought it would be something fun for Kendall. We parked by the Louisville Slugger Museum. It's dark, but Kendall was cheesing so big with her daddy!

We only spent a little over an hour at the museum. They had some fun play areas and it wasn't very crowded so that was nice. The exhibits were a little boring for Chris and I and that says a lot coming from educators! Actually it's just a little grown up for Kendall.

She did enjoy getting in a big bubble.

Shopping in the shape shop! (Hello Germs!)

Kendall can now rob a bank if it has laser beam security.

It was a fun time and well worth $5. I can't imagine going on a busy Saturday during the day. It was fun to try something different! Maybe we will try bowling next!

Sunday was a fun shopping day! We bought new lights for several rooms in our house. This is long overdue. The two main rooms in our home (kitchen and living room) will still host gawdy gold lights until summer. We are wanting to install recessing lighting and Chris will have to get in the attic to redo some wiring to center the lights in those rooms. I just love having a handy husband and I love upgrading things in our home!

I'm super obsessed with dainty newborn gowns like this and sibling outfits. Instead of blowing all my $$$ on this stuff, I thought I'd get a little creative this weekend.

The dress Kendall is modeling needs some work. It's not even in the back and I think the white top was a little big. I think I can make it right. I also want to add embellishments and then make Adley a matching baby sized one. I am going to have so much fun dressing these two little ladies.

Speaking of clothes! I think I might have Kendall's spring and summer wardrobe complete. I don't have anyone I can borrow hand me downs from and I usually wait to shop consignment sales, but this year I have just been buying a little at a time. Plus my mom loves to spoil Kendall as well! All she needs is some spring/summer shoes and more dresses and she's good!
FYI those tops and shorts are $4 at Target this week PLUS there is a circo Cartwheel!

We ended the weekend at my in-laws. W hadn't seen them in a few weeks and they made us a nice dinner! My father in law started chemo two weeks ago and is doing well. Kendall enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and we had a great time visiting!

How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
