Typically on December 26 I have removed majority of my Christmas decorations. Not this year. I am basking in the joy of the season and trying to prolong it as much as possible. This has been my favorite Christmas to date. Watching my two little's mesmerized by Christmas this whole month, has been the greatest. We’ve had Christmas programs and Christmas recitals. We’ve looked at lights, watched countless Christmas movies and shows, and baked cookies. We’ve colored Christmas pictures and made ornaments. It’s all been so much fun and I’m just not ready to pack it all up. I almost feel like a 4 year old kid again. :)
I’m also usually much more excited about the New Year and the fresh start it brings. I am excited about 2015, but I’m a little sad to leave 2014. It has been a wonderful year. We became a family of 4 this year! We have had a fun year so I’m a little sad to see it go. However, I know it’s only going to get better from here! To reminisce, let’s check out 2014…
January
Nesting was in full swing. We kicked off 2014 anticipating the birth of Adley in March. Kendall helped me prep the nursery and we had so much fun getting all the baby stuff out. We also had lots of snow days. Womp Womp
February
Kendall went to Big Sister class this month and we soaked up lots of memories of being a family of 3. It’s weird looking back and thinking about how sad I was. Sure, I was happy about the baby, but it was bittersweet mourning the loss of our trio. It all seems trivial now, and in my heart I knew it was then.
March
March 2014 will always be the month of Adley. :)
We were all so excited!!! And my body was ready! Really ready!
It was a wonderful day!
I will forever treasure these moments. Nothing compares to meeting your sweet baby outside of your belly.
April
We had pretty weather and new memories in April! We celebrated Easter and I lived up my time at home with these cuties on maternity leave.
May
May was fun! I celebrated Mothers Day with two little girls. Adley teased us with sleeping through the night and Kendall continued to keep us in stitches!
June
We celebrated 6 years of marriage and Chris had his first fathers day with 2 kiddos.
Remember that time my husband took a group of students on a science expedition for two weeks and left me with two kids?
Kendall started her dance career. Ha!
We had a two week slumber party until daddy came home!
July
Little miss started growing like a weed!
Sisters started playing together. Ha!
We celebrated my favorite holiday!
Summer fun!
K got her ear tubes removed!
At the end of July, I got offered a teaching position! Holla!
August
August was bittersweet. I was happy to land a teaching job, but sad to say goodbye to my days home with my girls.
My mom took good care of them until K started her new school. She took great pics too!
August was busy. We went to a fun family reunion and K starts 3 year preschool.
I had my first day of school! Chris sent me flowers!
2 kids in a cart and an impromptu hotel trip :)
We dressed up as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee for my cousin Rebecca’s Hollywood themed 30th birthday!
Adley started solids and we went to KY Kingdom as a family!
September
Good times…
These two crack me up!
I took over a first grade class!
October
Daddy turned 30!
Kendall turned 4! And we had both parties the same weekend!
We did a bunch of fall things and dressed up for Halloween!
November
My girls were fashionable and fun!
Chris shot a deer, I got to see Kendall dance at parent night, and Adley started wearing pigtails!
I did my first craft fair.
And we celebrated Thanksgiving with these little turkeys!
December
We started decorating and celebrating the season as soon as we finished that turkey! You only have 25 days to wear all those cute Christmas clothes!
K’s Christmas program was adorable!
K danced on a big stage at her recital!
Adley’s first Christmas was awesome. I took a whole bunch of pictures of her and made Santa hold her!
I turned 29 and celebrated with tea and a surprise dinner from my husband. :)
Santa came!
We enjoyed some one on one time with our littlest girl and rang in the New Years with our best friends at a hotel with an indoor pool.
2014 was amazing for our family! I know it only gets better from here!
